Wavelength & bandwidth

Use a broadband lamp for a continuous spectrum, a tunable source or filter for a selected band, or an LED for a discrete wavelength. Match the optics to the full spectral interval.

Continuous & pulsed light

Choose continuous illumination for steady-state measurements. For time-resolved work, match pulse width, repetition rate and synchronisation to the detector.

Power at the sample

Total source power, spectral radiance and power in a selected band are different quantities. Define the illuminated area, working distance and coupling losses.

Tunable sources & filters

Select a wavelength interval with a lamp–monochromator system, or filter an existing broadband beam.

07

Broadband lamps & plasma sources

Continuous illumination from UV to infrared: xenon, halogen, deuterium, composite, thermal and laser-driven plasma sources.

01

Supercontinuum sources

Broadband pulsed fibre sources compared by spectral coverage, repetition rate and visible output.

02

Femtosecond lasers & amplifiers

An ultrafast excitation platform and wavelength conversion for pump–probe and nonlinear spectroscopy.

03

LED, picosecond & calibration sources

Choose discrete LED wavelengths, synchronised picosecond excitation or reference emission lines for wavelength calibration.

01

Coupling & source accessories

Match the source to a monochromator, fibre, integrating sphere or free-space experiment.
