660nm Fiber Coupled FP Laser - 50mW

The FPLD series fiber-coupled laser diodes are designed with a GaAs quantum well structure. These diodes feature a built-in photodiode for precise monitoring and feedback control of the laser’s output power. Housed in standard TO packages, these diodes are pigtailed to a 1-meter long single-mode fiber terminated with an FC/APC connector. Each unit undergoes rigorous testing prior to shipment to ensure reliability. The laser cavity is highly sensitive to light reflection. We have an isolator to block reflections, consequently providing emission stability. Additionally, we offer a cost-effective, high-performance feedback laser diode controller/driver kit that maintains a constant and adjustable output power, along with an externally cooled co-axial laser mounting fixture to stabilize the output wavelength. It is available in a module or benchtop with an integrated isolator.

Application context

Why this design is used

Application guidance is tied to the configured wavelength, fiber interface and optical-budget fields for this family.

Laboratory optical integration

660nm Fiber Coupled FP Laser - 50mW: Laboratory optical integration depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 660nm wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (SM450, SM600, PM460, PM630) must match the connected components.

Optical interface and fiber
Fiber Type: SM450, SM600, PM460, PM630 · Fiber Buffer: 0.9mm Tube
Specify connector polish and fiber architecture together. FC/PC, FC/APC and SMA interfaces, and single-mode, multimode and polarization-maintaining fibers, impose different return-loss, mode-field and alignment requirements.
Wavelength and loss budget
Wavelength: 660nm
Check the Laser Diodes & Sources passband, insertion loss, return loss and power handling at the actual source wavelength; a nominal telecom-band label is not a substitute for the configured range.
