Narrow Line Fiber Coupled Lasers

The NDFB serial fiber coupled laser features narrow spectral linewidth, low noise, and cost-effectiveness. It is based on semiconductor on chip technologies. They have maximum output power of about 20mW and a built-in power monitor for precision power control as well as TEC cooling for wavelength stability. They are available at 1550nm. A heat sink is required to remove the heat preventing damage. We offer driving electronics to precisely control both the output power and temperature (wavelength)

Application context

Why this design is used

Application guidance is tied to the configured wavelength, fiber interface and optical-budget fields for this family.

Laboratory optical integration

Narrow Line Fiber Coupled Lasers: Laboratory optical integration depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 1550nm wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (SM28, PM1550) must match the connected components.

Fiber-optic instrumentation

Narrow Line Fiber Coupled Lasers: Fiber-optic instrumentation depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 1550nm wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (SM28, PM1550) must match the connected components.

Optical interface and fiber
Fiber Type: SM28, PM1550 · Fiber Buffer: 900µm Tube
Specify connector polish and fiber architecture together. FC/PC, FC/APC and SMA interfaces, and single-mode, multimode and polarization-maintaining fibers, impose different return-loss, mode-field and alignment requirements.
Wavelength and loss budget
Wavelength: 1550nm
Check the Laser Diodes & Sources passband, insertion loss, return loss and power handling at the actual source wavelength; a nominal telecom-band label is not a substitute for the configured range.
Control interface
Driver: No, Yes
Match supply voltage, analog or digital command range, connector pinout and default optical state to the instrument interlock. Confirm the unpowered state explicitly — it decides what happens to the link on a power failure.
