Fiber Coupled Amplified Photodetectors Module Plug-Play

10 MHz Fiber Optical Amplified Detector / Receiver: 0.9-2.6 µm

The COAD is designed for low-light-level detection for the 0.9 to 2.57 µm wavelength range. It has an amplified, thermoelectrically cooled (-10°C), switchable-gain, switchable-bandwidth, extended InGaAs PIN photoconductive detector. The detector is mounted on a thermoelectric cooler with a thermistor that provides feedback to maintain a constant temperature of about -10°C via an internal circuitry. This cooling enhances detectivity, resulting in higher gains and lower thermal noise. The gain, response bandwidth, and sensitivity are all interrelated. Two eight-position rotary switches allow for varying the gain in 10 dB steps and selecting bandwidths from 500 Hz to 1 MHz to optimize performance for specific applications.

Application context

Why this design is used

Application guidance is tied to the configured wavelength, fiber interface and optical-budget fields for this family.

Laboratory optical integration

10 MHz Fiber Optical Amplified Detector / Receiver: 0.9-2.6 µm: Laboratory optical integration depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 900-2570nm wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (No, Yes) must match the connected components.

Fiber-optic instrumentation

10 MHz Fiber Optical Amplified Detector / Receiver: 0.9-2.6 µm: Fiber-optic instrumentation depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 900-2570nm wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (No, Yes) must match the connected components.

Integration and compatibility

Use these checks to connect 10 MHz Fiber Optical Amplified Detector / Receiver: 0.9-2.6 µm to the surrounding optical, mechanical and control system. Every value shown is taken from this model's own specification record.

Optical interface and fiber
Fiber Adaptor: No, Yes
Specify connector polish and fiber architecture together. FC/PC, FC/APC and SMA interfaces, and single-mode, multimode and polarization-maintaining fibers, impose different return-loss, mode-field and alignment requirements.
Wavelength and loss budget
Wavelength: 900-2570nm
Check the Fiber Coupled Amplified Photodetectors Module Plug-Play passband, insertion loss, return loss and power handling at the actual source wavelength; a nominal telecom-band label is not a substitute for the configured range.
Control interface
Power Supply: Yes, None
Match supply voltage, analog or digital command range, connector pinout and default optical state to the instrument interlock. Confirm the unpowered state explicitly — it decides what happens to the link on a power failure.
