Inline No-Gap Tap Power Monitor

Our ILPM Series Fiber Optic Tap Power Monitors deliver unmatched performance for in-line optical power measurement and precision power control. They feature ultra-low insertion loss, high directivity, high power handling capability, minimal polarization and wavelength dependence, and low cost. The ILPM Series is based on a patented design that taps a portion of light through a groove formed along the side of a continuous optical fiber. This approach eliminates the need for lenses and optical coatings typically used in conventional fiber tap monitors, resulting in superior performance and reliability. The continuous-fiber structure is particularly well suited for compatibility with various fiber types, ultra-broad operating wavelengths, and high-power applications.

Application context

Why this design is used

Application guidance is tied to the configured wavelength, fiber interface and optical-budget fields for this family.

Laboratory optical integration

Inline No-Gap Tap Power Monitor: Laboratory optical integration depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 1550, 350, 450, 530, 850, 1060, 1310, 650, 2000, 750, 950 wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility, while listed loss or isolation figure (~0.3 / ~0.3 / ~0.3 / ~0.3 / ~0.3 / ~0.3 / ~0.3 / ~0.3) determines link margin and channel leakage. The fiber/interface entry (SMF28e, SM400, SM450, SM600, Hi780, Hi1060, SM1950, MM 50/125μm, MM 62.5μm, MM 105/125μm, SM850, MM200 μm, MM300 μm, MM400 μm, MM600 μm, MM800 μm, MM 1 mm, PM250, PM400, PM460, PM630, PM780, PM850, PM980, PM1550, PM1950) must match the connected components.
