Choose this when…

  • Cameras, light sources and behavioural devices must respond to unpredictable trigger events, with every event time-stamped on one clock.
  • Choose PEC-CM12-U for up to 12 TTL inputs and outputs plus 8 analog outputs, PEC-CM04-U for 4 of each.

About the PolyEcho Intelligent I/O Control Module

PolyEcho coordinates cameras, light sources, stimulators and behavioural hardware in experiments where events occur unpredictably. Each TTL input can be programmed to drive any combination of TTL and analog outputs, and all inputs and outputs are logged against one internal clock for analysis.

The 12-channel model handles up to 12 hardware triggers and up to 32 software triggers. Port configurations are set in PolyScan and uploaded to the module for real-time operation. Mightex positions PolyEcho as the successor to the BLS-IO04 module.

Features

  • Each TTL input can control any combination of TTL and analog outputs
  • Unified timestamping of all input and output ports
  • Port configuration programmable in PolyScan; parameters uploaded for real-time operation
  • Trigger delay under 20 µs
  • Hardware (TTL) and software triggers

Applications listed by Mightex

  • Freely behaving neuroscience experiments with event-driven stimulation
  • Synchronising Polygon, OASIS, LEDs and cameras with behaviour
  • Closed-loop experiments driven by external triggers

Ordering and integration

What you need with it

Options and companions

  • PolyScan4 Software

PolyScan4 controls the Polygon, light sources and cameras; Mightex includes it with the Polygon.

Notes from Mightex

  • When the forward voltage of an LED load is greater than 8 V, a 24 Vdc input might be used.
  • An external analog voltage source should have more than 8 mA of current driving capability.

Combining this with other equipment? Ask for an integration check.
