Optical Switches

Premium High Speed 1×1, 1×2, 2×2 Fiber Optical Switch: Dual Stage, 50ns, 30dB On/Off, 50kHz

The NS Premium Series fiber optic switch uniquely features low optical loss, fast response, high on-off extinction of 30dB, little drift, and high optical power handling. This is achieved using patented electro-optical configuration of clean fast response without ripples and temperature compensation in combination with compensating electro-optical control technology that significantly reduces drift to achieve a high on/off ratio at high speed. The switch is intrinsically bidirectional and selectable for polarization-independent or polarization-maintain by the fiber type. The NSP fiber optic switch is designed to meet the most demanding switching requirements of continuous operations over 25 years. The non-mechanical design provides ultra-high reliability and vibration insensitivity.

Application context

Why this design is used

Application guidance is tied to the configured wavelength, fiber interface and optical-budget fields for this family.

Optical signal routing

Premium High Speed 1×1, 1×2, 2×2 Fiber Optical Switch: Dual Stage, 50ns, 30dB On/Off, 50kHz: Optical signal routing depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 1060, 1310, 1550, 1625, 1750, 850 wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (SMF-28, HI1060, HI780, PM1550, PM980, MM50/125) must match the connected components.

Automated fiber test

Premium High Speed 1×1, 1×2, 2×2 Fiber Optical Switch: Dual Stage, 50ns, 30dB On/Off, 50kHz: Automated fiber test depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 1060, 1310, 1550, 1625, 1750, 850 wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. System integration

Integration and compatibility

Use these checks to connect Premium High Speed 1×1, 1×2, 2×2 Fiber Optical Switch: Dual Stage, 50ns, 30dB On/Off, 50kHz to the surrounding optical, mechanical and control system. Every value shown is taken from this model's own specification record.

Optical interface and fiber
Fiber Type: SMF-28, HI1060, HI780, PM1550, PM980, MM50/125 · Fiber Cover: 900um tube
Specify connector polish and fiber architecture together. FC/PC, FC/APC and SMA interfaces, and single-mode, multimode and polarization-maintaining fibers, impose different return-loss, mode-field and alignment requirements.
Wavelength and loss budget
Wavelength: 1060, 1310, 1550, 1625, 1750, 850
Check the Optical Switches passband, insertion loss, return loss and power handling at the actual source wavelength; a nominal telecom-band label is not a substitute for the configured range.
