About the OASIS OPTO Kit

Mightex assembles the OPTO Kit from the components an in vivo optogenetics experiment needs: a light source matched to the opsin, patch cords for freely behaving animals, implantable fiber cannulae, precise timing, and a behaviour camera. The kit is configured around the opsin and preparation.

Features

  • Compact fiber-coupled mini lasers (SMA) at 450, 520 or 638 nm; 70–150 mW from the tip of a patch cord; laser class 3B
  • Laser drivers powering up to two laser modules, 0.1% intensity resolution, 20 µs time resolution, BNC trigger input
  • Fiber patch cords: 200 µm or 400 µm core (0.39 NA), 1–5 m, 1.25 mm or 2.5 mm ferrules, 1/2/4/7/19 branches, rotary-joint options
  • Implantable fiber cannulae: 200 µm or 400 µm core, 0.37 or 0.50 NA, 5 mm or 10 mm protrusion, with mating sleeves
  • PolyEcho I/O control module for timestamped multi-device synchronisation
  • Behaviour camera: USB3.0, Sony IMX273 global shutter, 1408 × 1088, 250 fps full frame (600+ fps with ROI), 128-frame on-board buffer
  • Fiber-coupled LEDs as an alternative source (45+ wavelengths from 235 to 980 nm)

Applications listed by Mightex

  • In vivo optogenetics in freely behaving animals
  • Optogenetic stimulation with behaviour recording
