Inquire About Optical TablesWhere these are used
The table is the reference every other component is measured against. Floor vibration and thermal expansion that reach the optics become drift no amount of downstream precision recovers.
Nanometre path-length stability depends on isolating the setup from building vibration in the 1–100 Hz band where floors are worst.
Long folded beam paths amplify angular drift, so amplifier and OPA layouts need both damping and thermal stability across the surface.
Localisation precision below the diffraction limit is meaningless if the sample and objective drift relative to each other during acquisition.
Provide a flat, tapped, dimensionally stable reference surface for measurement instruments and calibration fixtures.
Support repeatable optical assembly and inspection on the factory floor, where ambient vibration is considerably worse than in a lab.
Build a subsystem on a small breadboard, align it off-line, then bolt the finished assembly onto the main table as a unit.
Before you specify
Which isolation your floor actually needs, why every isolator amplifies before it attenuates, and how to budget the result at the sample.
Opto-mechanicsVibration, thermal drift and mechanical integration are one problem. Budget the motion at the sample, then specify the table, the isolation, the mounts and the beam height that budget asks for.
