The TUN-W-2600~4410 is a 4000 nm continuous-wave diode-pumped solid-state laser. Laser diodes optically pump a solid gain medium inside a resonator. The pump supplies the energy; repeated passes through the gain medium amplify the laser light. Tuning changes the selected output wavelength so spectral features can be scanned with the same source. The tuning band specifies which lines can be reached; linewidth describes the width of the selected line.
