MSL-III-780L780 nm near-infrared single-frequency laser
780 nmThe MSL-III-780L is a 780 nm continuous-wave direct diode laser. Electrical current creates optical gain in a semiconductor junction, and the diode generates the laser light directly. Optical feedback selects the oscillating modes, while drive current and junction temperature affect output power and wavelength. Single-longitudinal-mode operation selects one resonator frequency. Linewidth describes the spread around that frequency, while frequency drift describes how its center moves over time. This distinction matters when matching the source to a narrow resonance or an interferometer.
