Optical Switches

Ultra Fiber Optical 1x2 Switch

The Fiber-Fiber ™ series 1×2 fiber optical switches offer exceptionally low optical loss of about 0.2dB, intrinsic broad wavelength coverage without any optical coatings (transmitting light of all wavelengths in the fiber), high optical power handling, and availability in all fiber types, including single mode, multimode, polarization-maintaining, double cladding, and special fibers. The superior performance is achieved through our patent-pending MEMS technology, in which light propagates in a continuous medium without interruptions. For volume discounts, please email.

Application context

Why this design is used

Application guidance is tied to the configured wavelength, fiber interface and optical-budget fields for this family.

Optical signal routing

Ultra Fiber Optical 1x2 Switch: Optical signal routing depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path.. The fiber/interface entry (SM450, SM600, Hi780, SM800, Hi1060, SM28, SM2000, PM480, PM630, PM780, PM850, PM980, PM1550, PM1950, GIF50, GIF625, FG50LGA, FG105LCA, FG10LDA) must match the connected components.

Automated fiber test

Ultra Fiber Optical 1x2 Switch: Automated fiber test depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path.. The fiber/interface entry (SM450, SM600, Hi780, SM800, Hi1060, SM28, SM2000, PM480, PM630, PM780, PM850, PM980, PM1550, PM1950, GIF50, GIF625, FG50LGA, FG105LCA, FG10LDA) must match the connected components.

Specify connector polish and fiber architecture together. FC/PC, FC/APC and SMA interfaces, and single-mode, multimode and polarization-maintaining fibers, impose different return-loss, mode-field and alignment requirements.
Control interface
Driver Type: None, Pushbutton and USB Interface With GUI
Match supply voltage, analog or digital command range, connector pinout and default optical state to the instrument interlock. Confirm the unpowered state explicitly — it decides what happens to the link on a power failure.
