LightBend™ 1x1, 1x2 High Power Optical Switch

LBHP, LBMH, LBPH The LB series 1×1, 1×2 High Power OptoMechanical fiber optic switch can be configured as either a 1×1 switch or a 1×2 switch. Based on our patent pending, it can work in high optical power up to 10 W. The switch is driven by a pulsed electrical signal, and the latching operation preserves the selected optical path after the drive signal has been removed. Our integrated status contacts provide an electrical readout of the switch position. It is designed for high optical power and some specific applications. An electronic driver is available for this series of switches. The switch is bidirectional.

Application context

Why this design is used

Application guidance is tied to the configured wavelength, fiber interface and optical-budget fields for this family.

Optical signal routing

LightBend™ 1x1, 1x2 High Power Optical Switch: Optical signal routing depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 1060, C+L, 1310, 1550, 780, 850, Special wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (SMF-28, MM 50/125, MM 62.5/125, PM1550, PM1310, PM980, PM850, Special) must match the connected components.

Automated fiber test

LightBend™ 1x1, 1x2 High Power Optical Switch: Automated fiber test depends on preserving the optical budget through the complete path. The 1060, C+L, 1310, 1550, 780, 850, Special wavelength specification sets source and detector compatibility. The fiber/interface entry (SMF-28, MM 50/125, MM 62.5/125, PM1550, PM1310, PM980, PM850, Special) must match the connected components. The Latching, Non-latching dynamic specification sets the usable control bandwidth.

System integration

Integration and compatibility

Use these checks to connect LightBend™ 1x1, 1x2 High Power Optical Switch to the surrounding optical, mechanical and control system. Every value shown is taken from this model's own specification record.

Optical interface and fiber
Fiber Type: SMF-28, MM 50/125, MM 62.5/125, PM1550, PM1310, PM980, PM850, Special · Fiber Cover: Bare Fiber, 900um Tube, Special
Specify connector polish and fiber architecture together. FC/PC, FC/APC and SMA interfaces, and single-mode, multimode and polarization-maintaining fibers, impose different return-loss, mode-field and alignment requirements.
Wavelength and loss budget
Wavelength: 1060, C+L, 1310, 1550, 780, 850, Special
Check the Optical Switches passband, insertion loss, return loss and power handling at the actual source wavelength; a nominal telecom-band label is not a substitute for the configured range.
