Silicon photodetector setup
Laser Noise Measurement
Monitor laser intensity fluctuations with an attenuated silicon-photodetector signal and oscilloscope. This is an optical-output noise setup, distinct from the STA-LFNT device-current noise system.
How the measurement works
Attenuate the laser to a suitable detector input level, convert the optical fluctuations to an electrical signal and inspect the oscilloscope trace. Select gain and acquisition settings to examine the fluctuation level and output stability.
Features
- Low-noise, wide-band amplification
- Fixed- and adjustable-gain module options
- 0-10 V output
- SM1 and SM05 mechanical compatibility
- Linear power supply
Applications
- Laser intensity-noise monitoring
- Optical-output stability studies
- Comparison of operating conditions and noise traces
